Scott Renfroe currently represents Greeley, Evans, Eaton, and most of Weld County in the Colorado State Senate. He was elected in 2008 on a platform of family values and small government.Scott commutes to the Capitol every day from north of Greeley.
He is a strong conservative and believes in personal responsibility, limited government, protecting property rights, fiscal common-sense, protecting our Second Amendment rights and protecting life.
“The 2009 Session will be challenging with the focus on jobs and budget cuts. We will be tempted with many bills to increase fees, but you can count on me to fight for less spending.” Renfroe does admit that it is hard when you are in the minority of Colorado’s elected, but he has no intent in letting back on the reigns when it comes to promoting conservative values. Renfroe approaches every bill with a fiscal and ethical mind before making a decision.
“Every time a bill is put in front of me I ask myself if it is going to preserve our constitutional rights and protect liberty, or will it expand the role and power of government,” said Renfroe “The people of Colorado do not work for us we work for them.”
Renfroe was born in Greeley and graduated from Eaton High School in 1985 and Colorado State University in 1989 with a degree in business administration. Renfroe is involved in several small business ventures, but calls himself “just a concrete contractor.”
“I truly enjoy the challenges of owning a concrete company and working with my father who started our family business in 1972. This might sound funny but I miss the smell of fresh concrete and getting dirty on occasion.”
Scott currently serves as a deacon at the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton. In his free time, Scott enjoys snow and water skiing with his family. He also loves to golf and play basketball.
Scott married his high school sweetheart, Pam, and has five children: Olivia, Sylvia, Vivian, and twin sons Derek and Spencer.
Renfroe has traveled to Belize and India on short term mission trips and encourages all citizens to serve in another country.
